Pinterest Wedding Trend

Hello Brides! We’re sure you are no stranger to the Pinterest wedding trend and we’d love to talk about the hottest ones happening. Pinterest is a great place to get ideas and see what worked for people and what didn’t. We are seeing a lot of off the shoulder wedding dresses. This trend is romantic and a little bohemian! We love the off the shoulder look especially when paired with the other big Pinterest wedding trend: Statement earrings. The off the shoulder neckline leaves your ears and neck bare to be adorned with jewels.

Statement earrings can be anything from dramatic diamonds to long, elegant colored gems. We are loving vintage this season so even better if your earrings have a sentimental value. Necktie earrings elongate the neck and make a great statement.

Another Pinterest Wedding trend is natural hair. Brides are deciding to love themselves and their assets! We think going with your natural look is fabulous. Natural doesn’t mean messy or flat. You can have your stylist work with what’s best for your type of hair. If you’ve got a lot of volume then pump it up! If you’ve got thinner hair do beachy waves or accentuate with accessories.

No matter what your style Pinterest Wedding trends is a great place to get started! You can find several images and get creative with what you see for your big day!

Wedding Mistakes

We usually give brides tips on what TO do but today let’s go over some wedding mistakes to avoid! These aren’t deal breakers or bad etiquette but they are trends in 2017 that you may want to skip.

First, we can stop naming drinks. It was cute a few years ago but we’re getting tired of “Dantini” or “Georgeorita”. A signature drink can be fun but this year it’s time to stop the witty bar banter. You can feel free to serve artisan drinks, seasonal cocktails and top shelf liquor but we’d stay away from cutesy names.

Another wedding mistake is the “rustic” wedding. This theme of rustic can mean anything from twine, painted tree branches, burlap napkins to tee-pees and dream catchers. These elements can be fun but they are often not representative of the bride and groom. They hire a wedding planner and end up with kitschy instead of elegant. Unless you and your fiance are very much into living in tee-pees or want a barn ceremony then you might be best looking into more “mountain elegant” rather than call it rustic. The boho theme is also a trend that is on it’s way out – it goes hand in hand with “rustic” because it uses the same outdoorsy, hippie vibes.

Lastly, a wedding mistake to avoid is the clown car full of your bridal party. We know you have a hundred best friends but they don’t ALL need to be in the party car to the ceremony or reception! The focus needs to be on you the bride and your fiance. It’s fun to have all the important people in your life celebrate the day with you but leave the bigger crowds for the reception. The day goes fast but you can make time to greet and talk with guests at the reception.

So, once again, these aren’t faux pas but they are some wedding mistakes to think about. You can certainly do whatever you feel is best for your style and bridal party!

2017 Color

It’s that time – pick a 2017 color scheme! Every bride has certain colors she loves or knows that flatter her (and her bridesmaids we hope!) Color scheme can be simple from one over all color to having five. Color accentuates you and your groom’s personalities or traditions or can be just fun to play around with.

Natural, white and green is one of the top 2017 color schemes this year.

For this color scheme you are electing to go very garden/natural and it fits a wedding in the spring or summer! Pairing a bold green with two neutral colors makes your wedding palette pop. You can choose from hundreds of shades of green and beige to find the one that fits your style the most.

Another 2017 color scheme is mauve and gray.

For this color wheel you can be a bit more romantic. There are also a lot of varieties of purple and gray you can choose from. A deep purple for bridesmaid dresses to light gray suites for the groomsmen. Purple can even run as light as pink as shown above and pink can help bring together the more bold purples.

A third 2017 color scheme is navy, gold and coral. These are definitely more preppy colors but they also make great statements!

This color scheme can work if you’re on the coast or in the Midwest – it gives the wedding feel a classy, beachy sense. We love the pops of coral with the navy blue. Again, there are hundreds of blues you can choose from and the darker shade also makes it more masculine if your groom is worried about the wedding being to girly! Gold is always an elegant staple color and goes well with everything. What bride doesn’t want more gold to accessorize with?

No matter your style choices have fun picking out a color theme for your wedding!
