Life is Good Foundation

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of donating my time to the Geneva Jake’s Backyard Picnic benefiting the Life is Good Kids Foundation. The Life is Good Kids Foundation supports extraordinary charities that create a lasting positive impact on children facing unfair challenges, including the trauma of violence, poverty, and loss.

The weather was gorgeous on Saturday, and the 4 hour event was full of backyard games for kids of all ages, raffles, laughing yoga, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, lemonade, and great family friendly music, courtesy of Music By Design.

The day was a huge success according to event organizer and Geneva Jakes’s manager, Liz Fahey. “We raised over $1,000 dollars for the Life is good Kids foundation and couldn’t have done it without you,” says Fahey. “Your music, organization, and announcements were outstanding! If anyone is looking for a DJ, I will be sure to pass along your info!”

Families played volleyball, tossed frisbees and hula hooped, while I played everything from Jason Mraz to Mungo Jerry on that sunny Saturday afternoon. Some barefoot dancing even broke out on the grass as one little picnic attendee made a special request. “My highlight of the whole picnic event was when my 3 year old niece requested “Shout” and danced by herself to the entire song. Hilarious!” recalls Fahey.
