Golden Globes Roundup

It’s that time of year again! Awards Seasons got underway last night in Los Angeles with the most fun show of the year, The Golden Globes. And while our favorite funny gals, Amy and Tina, killed it once again, the red carpet was a bit all over the place. The good news for our bridal watchers? White, once again prevailed as a trend that seems to be becoming a huge mainstay for starlets who want high impact on the carpet. But for those looking for clearly defined trends in fashion and beauty, things were a little bit confusing. That’s why we are here to break it all down.

Golden Globes Roundup

Let’s start with our favorite style stars. While there wasn’t a true standout favorite for us this year, we loved Emily Blunt’s classic white Michael Kors. The actress looked fresh, comfortable, and totally on-point with her ethereal braided do and crisp bright turquoise jewels. Naomi Watts channeled Hollywood glam in an ultra yellow belted Gucci number and the mot fierce snake necklace. Paired with a bright red lip, her look was lovely, however we feel like we have seen her in this same hue before. But hey, when it works, stick with it! Dakota Johnson, the actress soon to be seen in 50 Shades of Grey and no doubt launched into super-stardom, surprised us with a delightful gunmetal Chanel Haute Couture gown that fit perfectly and looked like liquid metal. Sienna Miller, in Miu Miu was head to toe perfection in an unconventional, yet stunning beaded appliqué dress with a plunging neckline and perfect makeup to accompany her gorgeous and chic hairstyle.

Golden Globes RoundupOur favorite wildcard? That goes to Emma Stone in a to-die-for Lanvin jumpsuit that was both fun and perfectly matched her glam-tomboy style. We love that she went for something slightly daring ( this is after all the globes, where stars USED to take major risks.)

Sadly, we weren’t blown away by the hair and makeup with a few exceptions. Jennifer Lopez, emerged as our favorite look for beauty. We are happy to see her still channeling super sexy looks, and while she looked stunning, we couldn’t help but zone in on her flawless face.

The best of the rest? We loved seeing Jennifer Aniston with her hair up ( even though we don’t really understand the slick, wet hair look so many ladies were donning.) Jenna Dewan Tatum looked lovely in Carolina Herrera- from the color to the interesting shape, she is becoming one of our favorite to watch. The always impeccable Kate Hudson definitely wowed with a revealing Versace and red carpet staple Reese Witherspoon looked lovely in Calvin Klein, although it was a bit safe for most. And let’s not forget the fresh, Michael Kors pink gown worn by Gwyneth Paltrow, who didn’t walk the red carpet but nonetheless, wow’ed us when she went up to present an award. That dress certainly has us looking forward to warmer temps!

Golden Globes RoundupBut perhaps the most talked about woman of the night, was Amal Clooney. Ever the demure fashionista, she made a return to classic Hollywood style hot again with graceful white gloves to go with her elegant black gown. While the jury is still out on the gloves, her style is refreshing and there’s not doubt we all love seeing her striking beauty on the award show circuit.

All in all, it was another super fun night watching Hollywood glam it up. Stay tuned for more trend watching and details from the SAG and Oscars, coming soon!
