Braids Braids Everywhere
Braids, Braids Everywhere!
Braids Braids Everywhere – We knew when we saw one of our favorite bloggers, Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere devoting an entire post to the perfect braided updo tutorial that this “trend” just might be more serious than we initially thought. And who are we kidding? Braids have been around forever, in so many forms ever since Pre-K when we first started donning to do. But let’s face it, the look has gone through more transformations than almost any other hair look we can think of and now it’s not just a natural, boho, hippie look that can only be worn at outdoor summer music festivals (are we the only ones on Coachella overload right now?) No, wedding gals, the look is EVERYWHERE and we’re breaking down how to pull it off and more importantly, how to pull it up into a mega-watt hair home run that you may even want to consider for your wedding.
Yes, we said it. A braid with your wedding gown. But before you go all timeless hair lecture on us, let’s take a look at some braided looks that are equal parts sweet as they are ethereal and gorgeous. A few years back, fashion favorite, Sienna Miller wore the milk- maid updo to the Golden Globes with a conveniently wedding-ish Marchesa gown. The look was breathtaking and only seemed to highlight how incredibly and naturally beautiful Ms. Miller is. The same can be said for the ever-chic Nicole Richie who rocks the braid with her signature boho look and carries it off with even her most classic, sophisticated ensembles as well.
When poking further into the braid craze, even the pop-ups from Saks Fifth Avenue ( also known as my computer’s very tempting cookies) guess the ron and center hair look being shown with everything from Oscar de la Renta to Moschino and Gucci and Louboutin… well you get it. Yes! It’s the braid. And for this high-end retailer, they are taking it to the max with a timeless dutch- favorite braided updo. So there you have it. Those in charge of dictating our every fashion move this coming season have spoken and you better get braiding.
