Wedding Hairstyles For Your Hair Type

Wedding Hairstyles For Your Hair Type

Once you’ve chosen your wedding attire, the next step is to choose your wedding hairstyle. The endless bridal hair inspiration photos on the internet can make choosing your wedding hairstyle difficult. That being said, it’s important to keep in mind your specific hair type as you choose your wedding hairstyle. To help you decide, we put together some great advice on which are the best wedding hairstyles for your hair type.

Half-Up/Half-Down Hairstyle

A more modern option for wedding hairstyles, the half-up/half-down hairstyle, can be done in many ways. It is important to think about whether or not your hair holds curls if you want to have a curled half-up/half-down hairstyle. Even with heavy-duty hairspray some women’s hair simply will not hold a curl. Your wedding day is not a good day to try to defy the odds, so maybe choose a sleek updo instead. You want to be sure your wedding hairstyle will hold all day long. Do you have long hair or thick hair that holds a curl well? A half-up/half-down hairstyle is a great option for you.

Sleek Updo

Speaking of hair not holding curls well, a sleek updo is a great option if that sounds like your hair type. A sleek updo is also a great timeless option, perfect for a formal or semi-formal wedding. There are many different options from a French twist, to a top knot, to a low bun. For thinner hair it’s important to talk with a hairstylist to ensure you can make this style work. Hair extensions are an easy option for your wedding day if you’ve fallen in love with an updo but do not have enough hair.

Ponytail Hairstyle

This hairstyle has become more popular recently. It is a great option for multiple hair types as there are so many ways to do a ponytail. For thin hair that doesn’t hold a curl, you can do a mid or low ponytail with some extra volume from teasing on top. A mid or high ponytail is a great way to keep your hair out of your face, but also to show off long, thick hair. A ponytail is also a great option if you have curly hair, or like to keep your hair au naturel. Ponytails are no longer just for playing sports! However, they are a great way to have modern, sleek formality with a stress-free hairstyle.

Short and Sleek Bridal Hair

There is something so beautiful about simply highlighting a bride’s beautiful face with a short haircut. If you aren’t a fan of growing your hair long, never fear! The options are endless from a cute bob, to a pixie cut, to a sleek, shaved look. A short and sleek hairstyle is definitely one of the most stress-free and low-maintenance of options. These hairstyles will definitely pull the eye to your face. Similarly, a large statement earring can achieve the same to compliment your hair’s face framing beauty.

We hope these tips will help you easily choose your wedding hairstyle! There are certainly many options. However, if you remember to keep your hair type in mind; your choice will be much easier. What advice do you have for brides planning their wedding day beauty?

I advise brides to bring photos of inspiration for their hair and makeup goals along with a photo of their bridal gown and hair accessories or veil with them to their bridal trial. It’s important that the hair and makeup photos match their skin tone and hair color. Be very clear with your stylist regarding your expectations. “Communication is the key to meeting those expectations. “Another great tip is to schedule your trial prior to a dress fitting, your bridal shower, or Bachelorette celebration.

What trends do you see coming for the 2021/2022 bridal seasons?

The bridal hair trends this season are more sleek and sophisticated. Think classic, elegant, and romantic. Hair and makeup trends also follow the bridal dress trends where we are seeing more lace, long sleeves, and more traditional, elegant styles.

What is your favorite part of working with brides and their families?

Our favorite part of being a part of our brides’ wedding day are the special relationships we build with them. It is an honor to be a part of this monumental day in their lives. We are not just there to do our beautiful work, we build relationships that last decades. “We are a part of their families and they are a part of ours.”

How should brides contact you if they would like to book One Salon and Bridal Company for their wedding day beauty? How far in advance should they book you? What aspects of wedding planning should brides do before contacting you?

Brides typically contact us through our website. They fill out our intake form and our bridal Coordinator walks them through the process, scheduling their bridal trial and setting up their time line for their wedding day hair and makeup.
We suggest setting up their contact with us no less than 6 months prior to their wedding day. Due to the pandemic the next few years are going to be our busiest bridal seasons ever, so the sooner the better.

We recommend setting up your bridal contract with us once you have your wedding venue reserved and have chosen your wedding gown. We will also need to know how many are in your wedding party and what services they will be having done from our salon. That way we can reserve the number of stylists, and makeup artists we need to accommodate your bridal party and timeline.
We absolutely adore our Brides!

Now you have all the information you need to book your bridal beauty! If you would like to learn more about One Salon and Bridal Co. you can reach out to them via their website (https://www.theonesalon.com/). Bobo Half Up Wedding Hairstyle

2020 Wedding Hairstyles

2020 Wedding Hairstyles

All brides want to love their wedding hairstyles! If you are getting married in 2020 you’ll need some inspiration to plan your 2020 wedding hairstyles. Even if you’re a low-maintenance bride who barely brushes her hair – you’ll want to decide on a complimentary style. We’ve put together some of the most popular styles for this year.  If you don’t know what you want your wedding hairstyle to be, this is a great place to start.

Pre-Wedding Hairstyle Research

You’ll want to consider your face shape when you look at hairstyle options. For example, an oval face is the most versatile. You’ll be able to rock chignon, up, down, braided or half up-half down, pretty much whatever style you want. If you have an oval shaped face consider a side-part style with sleek ponytails to give the illusion of higher cheekbones. If you have a rounded or square face, consider having part of your hair down to lengthen your look. Play hair dresser in the mirror while you look for hair ideas. Clip different styles and see which one makes you feel the most beautiful.

First, romantic half up-half down Boho styles will be a sure favorite.

The boho wedding hairstyle can be paired with flowers as well for that extra glam! Loose, beachy waves go well with the half up-half down hair style and we love how simple it is. Add in a few messy braids as well to give it a more medieval look if you’d like!

Second, is the braided hairstyle.

There is something both fun and classic about a braid. Braids are not just for little girls. The loose braids can lead into a bun, continue in a braid, or into a half-up hairstyle. There are so many braided 2020 wedding hairstyles you are bound to find one you love.

Third, we’ve got the fun classic made new, a top knot!

If you’d like to keep hair out of your face but still look refined and gorgeous this is the do for you. These styles can be anything from classic fishtail braid, firm beehive with a French roll up or a simple ballerina top knot. The sky’s the limit with a top knot. There are many combinations that are perfect for the classic bride.

And in opposition to the top knot, we’ve got the low bun.

Whether you wear it on the side or at the nape of your neck this is a great option to keep hair contained but still glam.

No matter what style you choose, it can be accessorized with flowers, jewelry, or hair clips. If you do your research, your hair will not be a concern on your big day. Choose an experienced hairstylist. Then, it will be easy to find the right style so you can relax and enjoy your wedding day.

Wedding Hairstyles 2020

Wedding Hairstyles 2020

Let’s look at what the best wedding hairstyles of 2020 are going to be! It’s a big decision for a lot of brides.  Your hair can either complete your look or detract from it. We put together different wedding hairstyles sure to add unique details to your wedding hairstyle.

Style number 1 is reminiscent of Friend’s character Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston).

This hairstyle has a sleek, straight style with a center part. Many 90’s trends are back in style again. This includes hairstyles and accessories. A straight hairstyle is a fantastic option for brides who don’t like to curl their hair. This hairstyle is also a good option if your hair doesn’t hold a curl.

Style number 2 is Padded Hair bands.

These headbands are a great option if you aren’t a fan of tiaras or floral crowns. A stylish, sparkly hair band will stand out. You can even add a veil to them. Headbands are a great addition to your wedding hairstyle whether you want to wear your hair up or down.

Style number 3 is bows and scarves.

What’s more fun and attention grabbing than a huge glittery bow?! You can customize this option quite a bit. Are you flirty, glamorous, sweet, or dainty? Perhaps you want just a simple scarf to accent your neckline. Don’t be afraid to wear a huge bow that make a statement. Tailor your accessories to embody your personality. Nomatter your hairstyle, wedding hair accessories, can jazz up your wedding attire.

The final wedding hairstyle we’re into for next year is the color pink!

You can color your hair a fun pink shade! We know a lot of brides love to switch up their look. It is no longer frowned upon at weddings to dye your hair. If you want a little softer, more glam look; think about pink highlights or an ombre effect!

What do you think of these ideas? Are you going to incorporate any of them? Comment below your ideas and thoughts. For more wedding planning inspiration check out the recommended Chicago Wedding Blog posts below! Happy Planning!

No Makeup Wedding

No Makeup Wedding

No Make Up Wedding

Have you ever thought about having a no makeup wedding? To most brides, this is a terrifying thought. We have tips on how to achieve a natural look if you can’t bear the thought of going completely without! Especially if your wedding day is in the summer and don’t want all that product dripping down your face – even if all those products say they are sweat proof.

The first step to a no-makeup wedding look is glowy skin.

Find a great exfoliator to rub those dead skin cells away. Then, instead of a foundation you can try a BB, CC or tinted moisturizer cream. A lot of BB creams or tinted moisturizers come with SPF in them. You can’t go wrong with protecting that glowing skin!
Another way to avoid foundation is to just use a concealer for those trouble spots. We love concealers with a wand so you can be sure to get the foundation exactly where you want it. Use a sponge to blend into your skin and you’ll have that flawless, dewy skin look without a lot of foundation!

Next step to getting the no-makeup look is to make sure your eyelashes are wide open.

Use a thick mascara to get those lashes to pop and curl up! Along with lashes are brows. If you’ve got naturally shaped and thick brows congrats! But for those who have some thin spots we recommend just filling them in with a brow gel to get a more consistent look for wedding pictures.

The final touches we love are using a highlighter on your skin.

When you use highlighter it helps make you appear natural in your wedding photos and look like “you woke up like this”. The facial part that brings it all together is lips. We find that even a simple tinted lip balm gives you a soft, weightless look.

See! You don’t need a lot of makeup to get that smooth, glowing skin look. If you’re a bride who doesn’t want a glam squad on the big day than these steps are easy to do! Best wishes on planning your wedding! We hope you find more inspiration and tips from the blog posts below!

Five Comfortable Wedding Shoe Ideas

Five Comfortable Wedding Shoe Ideas

Five Comfortable Wedding Shoe Ideas

The last thing you want on your wedding day is painful feet. There are so many comfortable wedding shoe options. There is no reason to wear painful shoes. Here are five great options to move and dance through your wedding day, pain free, in comfortable wedding shoes!

1. Sandals

Sandals are a great option for warmer weather, or a beach wedding. These sandals are a great bridal white with a touch of sparkle. They will hold your foot in place to avoid blisters, without getting into the pinching peep toe situation. The above sandals are the Olivia Miller- “Richey Multi Rhinestone Sandals” available at Macy’s and other retailers. These shoes are a great choice for their flat footed design that lets your feet do their thing.

2. Block Heels

If you have shaky ankles, a block heel is a great idea to give you a little lift in height without the lack of ankle support that comes with stilettos. These blush block heels are a cute option for a gentle pop of color. They also have great arch support. You can purchase them in store at Nora’s Shoes in Geneva, Illinois, or online.

3. Wedges

Who said wedges aren’t formal? These fancy shoes by Angela Nuran are made specifically with brides in mind. They are easily the most comfortable line of heels, flats, and wedges available in the bridal industry. Angela Nuran shoes are adjustable to be made wider or looser at the toe and ankle. You also can choose your brooch to coordinate with your wedding attire. You can purchase Angela Nuran shoes locally at Veiled In Elegance in Geneva, Illinois.

4. Flats

If you are not a heel or sandal person, you’re in luck! There are hundreds of flat shoe options that do not lack formality, color, or comfort. These beaded Bella Belle shoes have the combination of formality, beauty, and comfort that will make you happy all day. With the slightly pointed toe, no one would know you were not wearing heels! What’s not to love? Bella Belle shoes are available locally at The Crystal Bride in Geneva, IL.

5. Stilettos

We know, we know, we already showed you some Angela Nuran shoes, but we are not kidding when we say they are the most comfortable formal shoes on the market. These Astoria heels have arch support, a padded sole, as well as an adjustable broach at the toe. These details combine to give you a comfortable, stable heel to wear on your wedding day and beyond. They last forever, so dye them nude or black after the wedding to continue to enjoy these comfortable heels. Available locally at Veiled In Elegance in Geneva, Illinois.

No matter what shoes you choose above, you are sure to have the most comfortable wedding shoes! Don’t forget, you don’t have to sacrifice beauty for comfort. For more wedding planning tips and tricks see more useful blog posts below!

Bridal Beauty Kit

As a bride, you want to be picture perfect at all times on your big day, so it’s essential to have a bridal beauty kit at your disposal. In the days before the wedding, while you’re busy finalizing details on the rehearsal, wedding, and reception, don’t forget to pack these absolute essentials to prepare you and your bridesmaids for any beauty disasters!

  • Hairspray: Essential for any last-minute hair touch-ups before and after the ceremony
  • Powder: Keep the shine away with a small compact
  • Concealer: To hide any blemishes on the big day
  • Bobby pins: Be prepared for hair mishaps during outdoor photos, hug-heavy receiving lines, and dancing during the reception
  • Waterproof mascara: Unless your tear ducts have been removed or aren’t working properly, there will be at least minor waterworks on the wedding day so pack waterproof mascara to avoid looking like Ozzy Osbourne
  • Lipstick/Lip gloss: For touch-ups before photos, before the ceremony, and after the big kiss
  • Breath mints: To keep your breath minty fresh when kissing the groom and greeting your guests
  • Dental Floss: There’s nothing worse than a bride with a giant piece of food stuck in her teeth (not that you’ll probably be eating much anyway)
  • Tissues, cotton balls, cotton swabs: To apply, touchup, or remove makeup
  • Deodorant: This one is pretty self-explanatory
  • Nail Polish: Everyone will want to examine your ring and the photographer will be sure to capture close-ups of your hands, so bring some extra nail polish to repair chipped nails
  • Perfume: To keep you smelling sweet all day

Keep your beauty bag with you before the ceremony and ask a bridesmaid or close friend to carry it to the reception and place it under your seat for any last-minute touch-ups.
