Q: Going into the wedding planning process, what was your biggest concern?
A: Figuring out where to get all of the services. My cousin recommended The Knot. I really like the way you could search for vendors and utilize the message board.
Q: How was The Knot’s message board useful?
A: I would post questions and check back and have at least 3 or 4 answers. I was having a difficult time finding invitations at a reasonable price, so I posted a question and within hours I had a suggestion for Invitation Consultants. They were great!
Q: When planning your reception, what do you feel was a good use of your money?
A: I think the best use of our money was the photographer and the DJ. Everyone got enjoyment out of both of them the most.
Q: If you had it to do all over again, is there anything you would change?
A: The flowers were the only thing that I would change. Even though we did not spend a lot of money on flowers, I felt it had the least amount of impact on our day.
Q: What was it that attracted you to Music By Design?
A: The emphasis on no cheese. I hate weddings that feel like a kid’s party. I had been saying that all along and when we went to MBD, it was exactly what we were looking for.
Q: In terms of the reception, what did you like about Music By Design?
A: We had the opportunity to make the evening really personalized. I really like how much input we got to have. It felt like us and I am really grateful.
Q: What was your favorite part of the reception?
A: We had a lot of people on the dance floor all night, but we had a big group in from New York so when we played Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York it got everyone on the dance floor!
Q: Where did you go on your honeymoon?
A: We went on a one week Caribbean cruise with Holland America Cruise line. We were looking for a good deal so that we could splurge on things we really wanted to do. I have always wanted to go horseback riding on the beach. It turned out to be my favorite part of the honeymoon!
Q: Looking back, what advice would you give to engaged couples?
A: Have fun, chill out and enjoy the day. By the time my wedding day came, I didn’t care about any little detail. Everything was perfect.
