Ten Ways to Remember the Lost at Your Wedding

On your wedding day, pay homage to those that you’ve loved and lost. Celebrate the life of a loved one with one of these ten tips…

  1. Display framed photos of late loved ones at the wedding ceremony or reception on a cute table covered with rose petals or candles.
  2. Observe a moment of silence during the wedding or reception in memory of those special people who are unable to be present on your big day.
  3. Prior to or during the nuptials, light a candle (or candles) or release wishing lanterns in honor of late parents, grandparents, siblings, or other loved ones.
  4. Include a special note or photo in your wedding program to celebrate those that have passed away.
  5. Ask the officiant to make mention of late loved ones during the wedding ceremony.
  6. Select a significant scripture, poem, or personal letter to be read during the ceremony or reception.
  7. Choose a meaningful song to be played in memory of a lost loved one.
  8. Celebrate the memories of those that have passed away with a toast made by you, your fiancé, or another relative.
  9. Wear or carry a meaningful memento that represents a loved one on your wedding day, whether a piece of jewelry, a handkerchief, or a hair clip.
  10. Remember happier days with a video slideshow full of upbeat music and fun photographs of lost family members.
